Hey there

Thanks for being here! My name is Hilary and I am the owner of Monday's Wellness Studio. Just a little about me - I was born and raised in Rogers City. After high school, I went away for college, started a career (and a family) downstate, but eventually got pulled back to my roots, my hometown. There's something special about Rogers City and I'm so honored to start a business here that can benefit the entire community - from the locals to the semi-locals and even the visitors!

Why Monday's? For starters, I want to change the popular perspective we tend to have towards working out or exercise in general -  you know... that dread-like feeling or even putting it in the chore category - not looking forward to it... the "monday effect". The start of the week should be treated as a fresh start or new opportunity - as should be your fitness journey! Therefore, my goal for Monday's is to create a space that motivates you, that you look forward to coming to, and that provides you that fresh start.

I'm far from a fitness guru (that's why I have some wonderful trainers on my team that are! Meet them below), but I do have a passion for helping others and hope to encourage you to become a healthier version of yourself - inside and out - while having fun along the way.

This is me after running my first half marathon - a goal that I had for many years and finally accomplished AFTER having 2 kids (which means I started my training with that very out-of-shape-just-trying-to-survive mom physique and I still didn't give up!). I was one proud mama. That feeling of accomplishing a tough goal is something I want to help others experience.

John has been teaching group fitness for 10 years, he taught at several clubs in Southwest Michigan before moving to Huron Beach.

Teaching is not work to John, he loves connecting with people and sharing his passion for fitness.

John has a background in Quality Assurance and worked for Upjohn/Pharmacia/Pfizer/Zoetis for 30 years; he transitioned to retail management based on a lifetime of love and experience for the outdoors where he managed/opened Sportsmen's Warehouses in Michigan and Wisconsin.

In his spare time, he loves to fish, hunt, and enjoys family time, especially on the beautiful shores of Lake Huron in the summer months, or the white sandy beaches of the Caribbean in the colder months.  John recently took up pickleball with a little coaxing from his wife, Doris; and like many people he is now hooked!!

Doris has been teaching groups fitness for over 12 years, she taught at several clubs in Southwest Michigan before moving to Huron Beach.

Doris sees teaching as an opportunity to inspire people of all ages to stay fit and active.

Prior to becoming certified at 55yo, she participated in group fitness classes since she was in her 20's.  Doris is a retired Director of Human Resources/Organizational Development for private and non-profit companies in SW Michigan.  She continues to serve on the Board of Directors for a non-profit that provides housing to developmental and mentally disabled people in SW Michigan.

The most recent hobby Doris picked up is pickleball; she began playing a few years ago and will find a court wherever she goes (as well as finding a gym!). In addition to exercise, travel, sandy beaches and family time with her children and grandchildren are high on Doris' list of favorite things to do!
